We provide the best care and support to help our community fulfil it's potential

Story

This will be my first marathon to run in the UK, it has been too long in years since I have run this distance.  For me it is important to be able to do something that involves some form of discipline and commitment that will, in turn, be of benefit to those in need of care and support.  VSA is significantly placed in the North East of Scotland due to the amazing work they do, the noted impact of their work and the overall difference they have been and continue to make to peoples lives.  Any one of us could be supported by VSA at some point in our lives, we are not immune.  It is important to sustain charities such as VSA.

Based in Aberdeen, VSA is the city's major social care charity. VSA has grown since 1870 from charities that operated with Voluntary Service Aberdeen, combining them to provide even better care and value for the local community today. At VSA our aim is to put our service users at the heart of all that we do regarding our planning and the delivery of our services. That's why we continue to be successful after 140 years of providing social care and support across Aberdeen city and the North East of Scotland. VSA is Aberdeen's major social care charity, in fact it's the largest city social care charity in the UK. It's success has been in its bringing other local charities together to ensure that the people in Aberdeen are provided with the best of care. We cannot do this on our own. We need the continued support of hundreds of firms, individuals and groups across the city and shire as well as trusts and other organisations to help us raise the funds that we need, nearly £17 million every year to ensure that we can continue to provide the best possible services to the most vulnerable people in our local communities.
