Story

I have been lucky enough to be selected to take part in a trip to Nkwanta, Ghana, in October, 2016, as part of a group of 16 girls from my school.  We have been set a target to raise £50,000 for the Ghana Education Project which will make a huge difference to the local girls who depend heavily on this charity to gain the education they so dearly need and deserve!

On the 3rd of September, my dad and I will be taking part in a 33 mile sponsored walk from Brighton Pier to Eastbourne Pier, spending a full 12 hours of solid walking to raise money for the charity. Every penny raised will go to the charity (our trip is all paid for separately by parents).

Although The Ghana Education Project is small, it is very effective, running a secondary school for girls that educates over 500 local girls to age 17, who without the help of the charity and your donations, would most likely be illiterate with little opportunity. Yet your help could drastically change many lives for the better!

The charity has no administrative expenses and all expenditure is controlled by the charity's founder, Gill Norris MBE, who lives in Nkwanta running the project. So you can be sure that all of your donation will be spent supporting the education of girls in this remote and deprived area of Ghana. The charity's next challenge is to build four additional classrooms to accommodate the girls as they move up through the school.

We would greatly appreciate it if you would sponsor us. Every penny counts !

Thank you sincerely,

Ione and Renny
