Hi,
We're climbing over the O2 on Saturday, 25th June for Enhance the Uk because it's a fantastic charity that we both support. We have been best friends since we were 3 years old. We are inseparable and do everything together. This is the first time we have decided to do a charity fundraising event together as its a charity that is close to both of our hearts.
Izzy’s story
I was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis and Uveitis when I was 3 years old. Many people don't realise that I have this condition, however, it has affected me in many ways growing up, particularly with regards to physical challenges. I have weekly Methotrexate injections (a very strong anti-cancer drug) to help keep my condition under control. The climb will be a real challenge but I know, with the support of my best friend Gaya, anything is possible.
Gaya’s story
Being Izzy’s best friend for so many years is one of the best things in the world for me. Watching her deal with her condition so beautifully, facing daily challenges in a humble and graceful way, makes me very proud of her. Our friendship has made me aware of how important emotional support is for anyone living with a disability.
We have decided to climb the 02 in London to promote the charity Enhance the UK. The charity is important to us because it raises understanding and awareness of people living with a disability. We want to show that just because you have a disability, it shouldn't stop you from fulfilling your dreams and goals. We will be joining 10 other people who have a variety of impairments and who are also raising money for this great charity.
