Having sadly lost his daughter soon after she was born, a friend of mine has asked me to join him on a mammoth bike ride from Benidorm to Redditch. The ride is 1138 miles long and includes biking the Pyrenees! 

The charity, Baby Ava's Support Foundation, provides families with the opportunity to create, keep and capture memories from their child's short life through memory boxes. The money raised from this bike ride will go someway to ensuring as many families as possible can create these special memories. 

We will also be supporting the neonatal ward on which Ava was cared for with neonatal equipment, which is unavailable through the NHS due to a lack of funding. 

This bike ride will no doubt be the biggest challenge of my life. Even as a keen cyclist, 1138 miles is a huge ask with the warm weather and mountainous terrain!
