Story
On 9th October, I'll be running the Chicago marathon. This may be "just another marathon" for me, but since my last marathon three and a half years ago, I've spent a significant amount of time not running due to injury. During this period I became very aware of the mental health benefits of running (which I'm happy talk to anyone about) which makes for a slightly tenuous link to the charity which I am now raising sponsorship for - MIND in Tower Hamlets and Newham. I have recently become a trustee of this charity through British Land's Staff Trustee Network, and am already aware that every pound we raise will be hugely welcomed to help deliver their great work at a time when funding is becoming ever more scarce and arguably their services are in ever greater demand.
British Land will match the first £750 of sponsorship and I will also match up to £250 of sponsorship.
If you're into performance-related remuneration then my target time is 2:59:59 to keep up a run of six sub-3 hour marathons stretching back over eight years. Current training pace suggests that this is far from guaranteed so any incentivisation to help me dig deep in those last few miles is greatly appreciated!
Thank you
Jon
