Story

In August I am going to attempt to swim the English Channel, in memory of my good friend Susan Taylor who lost her life attempting to swim to France.  It will be my longest swim and will be a very big challenge both physically and mentally.    In July 2013, Susan, set off on her own Channel attempt. She was a club swimmer as a youngster and had always wanted to swim to France.  Once she knew she would be doing the swim she asked me to be one of her crew and I jumped at the chance to see her chase her dream.

Susan trained really hard for the swim and was raising money for a local charity.  When she was only a mile away from France, her body gave up.   Afterwards I knew I must try to swim the channel, my main aim being to get to the beach in France and pick up a pebble for Susan.

I am funding the swim myself so all the money donated will go directly to Keep the Beat. Keep the Beat is a fantastic charity that raises money to provide hope and support to the families affected by congenital heart defects.
