Story
I am running the Virgin London Marathon 2016 on behalf of the Angus Lawson Memorial Trust (ALMT). I am really not much of a runner - I suffer from dodgy knees, a bad back and a tendency for sedentariness. Nevertheless, I am doing my best to get in shape for this physical and mental ordeal in the hope of convincing my wonderful friends and family to contribute to a very worth cause.
In short, the ALMT makes grants to organisations working towards its shared mission to mitigate the suffering of children Worldwide. Now in its tenth year, the ALMT has supported over 100 projects in 25 countries and because the running costs of the Trust are supported privately, every penny of each donation is available to go to the wonderful children's projects and initiatives taking place around the World. The ALMT team also builds partnerships with grant recipients offering advice and support, digital and media coverage and fundraising assistance.
More information on the ALMT is available through its website (www.almt.org) and the following video provides a really good snapshot of the great work they do: https://youtu.be/PKbJV3Py6hM.
I really am grateful for any donations you feel you are able to make (as you can see, I have been set a rather ambitious fundraising goal!) - they will really help me to force myself to get out on the road whatever the weather, particularly as the miles build up in the next 2 - 3 weeks...
I should also mention that Nicole and I are running together - she is fundraising on behalf of Breast Cancer Now and her page is here for those who know her as well: https://www.justgiving.com/Nicole-Tooze/
Much love and thank you for your support,
James
