Story
Thank you so much for visiting this page in order to donate to the Michael Sobell Hospice at Mount Vernon Hospital in memory of Lyn.
It was in the early stage of Lyn’s diagnosis that she was first admitted to this special place. Her treatment was so successful that she was eventually allowed home for a few hours a day. These special hours were extended to overnight visits and eventually led to a full discharge. With the support of the many nurses and care given by her doctors at the hospice, Lyn was able to live an independent and rewarding life for many more years.
The Michael Sobell Hospice took over Lyn’s care again at the latter stages of her illness this January. They looked after her with great compassion and sensitivity; beautifully allowing her to die in comfort and with dignity. Not only did they care for her but also for all of her family and friends and this made a difficult situation so much easier for all of us.
The staff who work there are simply amazing but the hospice relies heavily on donations and volunteers to be able to offer such a service. It was Lyn’s wish that those wanting to mark her passing did so by donating to this incredible hospice, so that other people can benefit and receive the care that she and we did.
