Why Kosovo? I have been working with and supporting MAK for over 11 years now. They are an amazing charity. They started in 1999 when they took aid out to Kosovo during the ethnic conflict , they then helped with the rehabilitation of many Kosova refugees who came to Manchester, some with horrific injuries. One of my friends who arrived in Manchester in '99 had received 16 bullet wounds.MAK has continued to support the Kosovo community in Manchester but also organised amazing social and cultural programmes in Kosovo including the design and construction of the amazing Manchester Peace Park. They also organise an amazing summer school where they work with hundreds of Kosovar kids doing art, drama and sport.
