RSPCA Lincolnshire Mid and Lincoln Branch is a small local charity run and managed by volunteers working out their own homes. They can't afford their own premises and board some animals privately at Ruskington Kennels. The charity is there solely to take in neglected and cruelly treated animals brought in by the main RSPCA Inspectorate (a separate charity), rehabilitate and rehome. 

It runs at a loss of over £30,000 a year. Vet bills alone exceed £80,000 per year and over 700 animals (mice through to mastiffs) pass through the volunteers/Ruskington Kennels doors. Animals are NEVER put to sleep due to lack of space as the rescue pays for extra boarding at the kennels. One volunteer is 72 year old Moira who cares for most of the cats in her back garden cattery and has done so well over 20 years! The branch has some incredible volunteers. They only have three part time members of staff. One is due to have her baby in one month yet her phone is on 24/7 voluntarily so she can support the Inspectors needing emergency animal placement. The other two manage the little RSPCA charity shop next to Debenhams which has been hugely affected by the recent roadworks and it's the charity's main source of income.
