Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm running (hopefully with little walking) the Reading Half Marathon for two reasons.

Reason 1

Our son was diagnosed with high-functioning autism (Aspergers) in December 2015 and it's been quite a learning curve for us trying to understand how we can support him on his journey through life.

One of the great things we discovered this year was the ASD Family Help group (http://www.asdfamilyhelp.org/).

Through them, our son has taken up martial arts and achieved his first belt within weeks of joining, gets to attend social events with other children on the spectrum and it has really helped him. We cannot express enough how valuable this local charity is and me and my family would really appreciate any donation you can make to help a great local cause.

Reason 2

I'm getting fat.
