Most of us take for granted having the time and support just to be children. However some children do an incredible job from an early age of caring for others ... Often parents or siblings who have a debilitating illness or disability. Winchester & District Young Carers provides support to 130 children in, and around, Winchester giving them the opportunity to take 'time out' to join in activities with others, attend day trips out or just to spend time talking through their challenges and feelings with others. 

Having enjoyed a childhood free of such responsibility I cannot imagine how difficult it must sometimes be for these young Carers and want to raise funds to enable them to enjoy themselves and get the support that they need.

Project 55 commences as I celebrate 55 with the aim of raising funds through a number of different activities during the year. £5,500 is a real challenge that would allow the young Carers to visit either Paultons Park or Thorpe Park, attend a Young Carers Festival or join one or more summer holiday activities.
