Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

That drinks party where, after a few proseccos with damson gin, you proclaim, "I'd forsake alcohol for a month for charity", and everyone says "Go on then", instead of laughing uproariously, as they were meant to do.

I read a book by John Humphrys and thus came across the Kitchen Table Charities Trust.  I've met people who  are involved with small charities where a few quid really make a difference rather than being swallowed by a massive advertising campaign. I like that idea.

Those of you who know me well will appreciate that a week without booze would be a challenge, let alone a month. You will, of course, have to take my abstinence on trust; I like to think that you know I'll keep the faith.

About the charity

The Kitchen Table Charities Trust (KTCT) exists to help third world charities that are too small to help themselves. These charities support vulnerable people and make a long-term difference in their communities through activities such as orphan support, rescuing street children, enabling small children to go to school, and providing micro loans for people to set up small businesses.
