UPDATE - 18 April
I have just spoken to Dr Nathan who was seen by Janet at the outset and is involved in this charity. He has thanked us for such a truly worthwhile donation. Money is being spent on research into molecular changes in skin tissue. It is such a rapid disease with no cure there can only be progress in research in the long term.
He sincerely thanks everyone who has donated.
And of course so do I !
Thanks to everyone - more than I could ever have hoped for and such a lovely way to remember someone who would have done anything to help anyone

Jan contracted skin cancer (malignant melanoma) 25 years ago - and after an operation to remove the area surrounding a mole and many checks ups was given the all clear after 10 years
In January this year Jan was shocked to learn that a DVT just a few days before Christmas had been caused by this disease which had returned and taken hold .
She was told that advances had been made in the treatment of this most serious illness and she had hoped to get on a trial for an experimental drug. Time was however totally against her , it was all so fast , and she sadly passed away on 16 February in hospital with her family at her side
During her time in hospital she was so very brave and hoped that donations to research specifically into this disease might help save others in the future.
Jans funeral took place Monday 5th March
So many people arrived to pay their respects and remember Jan there was standing room only at the Crematorium - a wonderful turnout
Thank you all so much for attending - many of you coming such a long way.
This was a sad day for everyone but of course the best celebration of Jans life that we could possibly arrange. She had so many friends from all her different interests
Everyones generosity to this charity so far in such a short time has been astounding. We really want to thank you for every donation which has been made - many of which have been generous in the extreme.
We have been touched by all the messages received and everything which has been said and written - both on here and on cards and letters recieved
This has been of great support at the saddest time of our lives.
