Story
Back in 2010 , Quiche and I led a team from our church that visited an Orphanage called the New Hope Centre , in Swaziland. Many of you will know that it was the last thing that we did together before she was diagnosed with cancer the following month.
Two years later I visited the children again , and opened the first aid centre that I had organised to be built there ,using money that Lorraine had left in her will for the charity. Whilst I was there I sponsored a young boy called Titus and will be visiting him , and the rest of the NHC family this Christmas , spending 3 weeks helping with the centre's plans for the festive season , including spending Titus's birthday with him on Christmas eve and helping out a visiting Christmas Pageant with 200 local children.
I want to be able to do several things whilst I am there and this is where I need your help with two of them. I know Lorraine would want the kids to have a memorable Christmas and since I am arriving there 2 days after her birthday and staying till New Year , I want to honour her memory by paying for and cooking Christmas Lunch for the 60 children and 40 staff.
Additionally , I know that Dr Elizabeth Hynd who runs the centre wants to bless local families with a chicken each so they are also able to celebrate with a decent meal on Christmas day. So I am aiming to provide 75 chickens , which we will be delivering personally to the families in the days leading up to Christmas itself.
I am asking anyone who would like to remember Lorraine on her birthday and over Christmas to donate £10 . This donation will provide a chicken for one local family and also help give the orphans at the New Hope Centre a wonderful day too.
I just ask one thing - dont delay , please donate today. I would like to get the money wired over to Swaziland well before my arrival on the 8th Dec so we have time to source the chickens and plan accordingly.
Many blessings and much love to you all.
