We provide financial assistance to families to help critically ill children

Story

Cliona's foundation provides financial assistance to critically ill children all over Ireland where there are not other options for them to receive support. The fou dat ion is named after Cliona who lost her very bravely fought battle against illness in December 2006.

Few things impact a family more than a diagnosis of serious illness. Every member of the family and every aspect of their lives will affected such as relationships, money, time and energy.

The diagnosis of a life threatening of life limiting illness sets in motion a massive change in the way life experienced by both the sick child and the family.

At he time of diagnosis few families realise how chronic illness will change their lives, with implications that are far reaching and affect all aspects of family life. Ill children and their families need a wide range of supports, not just the latest medical treatments but also emotional, spiritual and financial support.

There are many resources that canite help children and families get through this with their spirit, strent and love intact. Yes, illness takes ano enormous toll on everyone it touches, but it is possible to survive it's ravages and actually end up stronger and wiser and more compassionate for having endured the journey.

Cliona's Foundation is based in Roselawn House, University Business Complex, National Technology Park, Limerick.
