Story
Fight for Peace is fundraising to re-establish its Emergency Fund. This much-needed fund has turned around the lives of many of Fight for Peace’s members, right when they needed support the most but were unable to find it anywhere else.
The support team at Fight for Peace meet with hundreds of young people every year. While many see significant improvements just through regular one-to-one mentoring, some require much more intensive support.
The Emergency Fund aims to provide whatever help is needed, as soon as it is required. In the past, this fund has turned around the life of a struggling young person with something as simple as a pair of sports shorts so they could attend an interview to become a Gym Instructor. From there came a job, which led to stable housing and the ability to have a social life, both of which dramatically improved their wellbeing and ultimately led to a happier, healthier young person.
Currently, the Fight for Peace team is working with one young person who requires legal representation in relation to deportation. He was born in the UK and has no ties to France, which is his parents country of Birth. He is extremely vulnerable due to both psychological and physical health conditions and separation from his child (who was born in the UK) would be catastrophic for his health. Since joining FFP one year ago, he has begun to turn his life around. He has made friends, disconnected from people who were negative influences on him and even begun to volunteer at the charity. All these positive changes are now at risk.
Please help FFP raise funds to ensure that vulnerable young people are able to secure the support they need to make changes and ultimately lead more peaceful, positive and productive lives.
