Story

Hello!

This will be the eighth Dander For Mary, which is now well established in the diary and is a major fund raising event for The Mary Leishman Foundation, established back in 2009 after Mary passed away.

I'll be aiming to complete the Dander along the Fife Coastal Path between the 10th and 12th June this year, raising funds along the way for numerous groups, charities and individuals who will benefit from the Foundation's main aims which are to "Encourage potential and ease distress"  In the days running up to the Dander, I will be completing a half marathon of 13 miles, and doing similar days after the Dander.  Adds to the challenge!

This year will be the first since my own father passed away, before he died in August 2015, The Mary Leishman Foundation had agreed to fund a new electric wheelchair for him.  Unfortunately, he never got the use from the chair, however another recipient is now using the chair, presented in my father's memory, Donald Grewar at Madras College now uses the chair which enables him to continue teaching maths to pupils there.

Over £850,000 has already been raised by The Foundation, let's make it to the million mark next!
