Story
As some of you may be aware, Dave and myself are keen cyclists and have decided to take on a challenge this year to raise money for UCL Dementia Research (Chosen charity of Iceland Foods Ltd).
We have stupidly decided to pedal round Wales starting at our home's in Tallarn Green, via Knighton, Aberystwyth, Criccieth and Llandudno.
Covering a distance of around 360 miles in 5 days, with 20000ft of climbing.
We are self funding the project and all monies raised will go straight to the charity.
Please if you can spare some loose change (or folded bits), please sponsor us for this event, all the blood, sweat and tears will be worth it if we can raise a good sum of money for this very worthwhile charity.
We will update you all of the progress throughout the ride, if we aren't too tired.
We are also raising funds throughout the year with various gigs, including an Acoustic night (May 2016 raised £600) and an 80's night on the 17th September. Please contact me if you would like tickets for the second event.
UCL’s research aims to beat the disease: to find the cause, discover a cure and improve care for people living with dementia.
Globally, there is 1 new diagnosis of dementia every 3 minutes. Dementia effects all communities in every part of the country and around the world.
It doesn’t matter who you are, what you do or where you live.
Dementia can affect anyone – and dementia doesn’t just affect the person with the disease – it affects whole families.
Dementia currently receives 13 times less funding than cancer, and for every £10 spent on dementia, only 6p goes towards research.
You can improve the lives of both those suffering with dementia and their families by raising funds for UCL Dementia Research
