Story
I am enthusiastically supporting The Sunnybank Trust, a local charity providing an incredible service to people with learning disabilities in need of full time, lifelong care.
Sunnybank reach as many as 300 people through their services, but it is known that in excess of 700 people with a need exist in this part of Surrey.
The reality is that the social skills needed to maintain friendships or seek activities are affected by their disabilities and it is Sunnybank who meets the need by providing one-to-one friends - advocates - social club - community church - and all sorts of other essential reassuring services to improve their lives.
Those I have met are so appreciative and responsive when people spend time with them.
I am walking along the river Thames for 184 miles to show that I support what is being done so well. You are welcome to join in along the way (see itinerary under photos).
With your help I would like to make a difference so that more of them could go to the Kites Club and that it can continue and expand the range of activities so very needed.
Will you, please help me make this hope a reality?
