Story

Please help us to raise money for the new

Nicola Murray Centre for Ovarian Cancer Research.

Louise's story:

After years of misdiagnosis, I was finally diagnosed with Stage Three C ovarian cancer and have undergone chemo for three years to keep it at bay. The new research centre will allow other women to access quicker diagnosis, hopefully resulting in successful treatment outcomes. Ovarian cancer is known as the 'Silent killer' and the awareness generated by the Nicola Murray Foundation and the new centre will help to save the lives of many women.

Ovarian cancer is the fourth most common cause of death from cancer amongst woman in the UK as it has a highly aggressive natural history and causes almost 125,000 deaths per year worldwide.

The Nicola Murray Foundation is a registered charity with the intention to fund research projects related to ovarian cancer and HNPCC. The Foundation has successfully raised more than £200,000 which has contributed to the development of the new Nicola Murray Centre for Ovarian Cancer Research.

All funds raised are channelled directly to Edinburgh University to fund doctors and researchers at the Edinburgh Cancer research Centre with the aim to improve the outcome for Ovarian cancer sufferers and those who carry HNPCC.

Please join us in supporting this fantastic (and much needed) centre. Donate what you can, or raise money by joining us on the day!
