Anyone who knows me, knows that I am most definitely NOT a natural born long-distance runner! My various training injuries and physio sessions are proof of that!!

However, I am running the Great North Run on 11 September 2016 to raise some much needed money for Gibside School (http://www.gibsideschool.org) which is an amazing primary school in my home town for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

My gorgeous niece Gabrielle, who has severe autism, attends the school and I am inspired every time I see her by just how much she has learned and developed.

The school caters for children with profound and multiple learning difficulties, those with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), severe learning difficulties and those with other complex communication and medical needs.

The school has a wish list of things that it needs to make the pupils' time there the most fulfilling it can be.  I would sincerely love to help the school by raising some funds which will help to make Gabrielle's time there the best that it can be.  

So I would be incredibly grateful if you could please, please, please sponsor me to do the Great North Run for this amazing school. I promise a sweaty, post-run selfie (if you can bear to look at it!) will be posted afterwards.
