Story
There is no longer peace in the city of peace. Parents do not feel safe sending their children to school; neither do they feel safe going to work. If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, or even make a sudden move, you may end up shot dead immediately. This is how bad the situation in Occupied Jerusalem is today. For nearly a month now, the city has witnessed excessive Israeli military escalation, starting from the Old City and Al Aqsa Mosque, and now spreading to all its Arab neighborhoods, as well as other cities in the West Bank. Recent increase of imposed mobility restrictions on the city’s Arab population, coupled with continuous decline of socioeconomic conditions, have intensified frustration among Palestinians.
Hospitals are struggling to treat the huge number of injuries with live and rubber ammunition that have already exceeded 8,010 cases, and over 5.000 victims of tear gas suffocation. Children and youth aged 13-19 have been the main subjects of aggression by the Israeli Occupying Army. As a result, many families are experiencing great fear and anxiety necessitating the provision of legal and psychological assistance. Furthermore, over 2,042 Palestinians have been detained by Israeli Occupying Army, and consequently the livelihood of their families is threatened.
