Story
This Summer I will be undertaking the challenge of a lifetime in going to Uganda to assist in the development of education to children. The project will be undertaken with Soft Power Education, a charity set up to improve the quality of life for Ugandan children through education.
I will be there to assist the charity with hands on hard work including building and refurbishing schools to helping educate children. I will also be living on site with basic amenities for my time on the project.
A minimum fundraising target has been set in order to donate to the charity which will cover costs of building, refurbishment and other materials required for this project. All funds raised will be given as a donation to the Soft Power Education charity and do not include personal expenses or flight costs. All donations will be gratefully received how ever big or small.
An example of what a donation could pay for:
- £5 could buy a shovel or 4 litres of paint
- £10 could pay for 100 bricks or lunch for 40 children
- £20 could buy a truck load of plaster sand
- £50 could pay for a 1000 litre water catchment tank
- £100 would pay for the wages of 2 pre school teachers for a month
- £1000 could pay to refurbish a two classroom block
