I am a farm animal vet with the wonderful Westpoint Farm Vets, working in our relatively new branch in Daventry. Having quite a physical job, you would think that I would be relatively fit...think again! A year ago, I would have succumbed to a chest infection just running to catch a bus.

Thanks to my amazing friend Steph and my fabulous sister-in-law Julia, I was persuaded to change dreams to reality and seize the moment to run a marathon, something that I had always said I wanted to do "oneday". Well, that day is now 17th April 2016. It's not going to be easy. 

I am raising money for the Farming Community Support Network because they are an inspiring local charity who work to support farmers in need. I have the unfortunate job of informing farmers that their businesses have been shut down due to TB, costing them thousands financially and a whole lot more emotionally - seeing decades worth of careful genetic selection loaded onto a lorry to be culled. I see farmers struggling to keep their businesses surviving in the face of falling milk and meat prices. We need to be doing more to support the centerpiece of our world, and this is just one small contribution.
