Story

Starting on October 3rd I began a self imposed ban on alcohol for 45 days (initially for my own good after a summer of parties, stag do's, weddings, holidays and sports events)

The older I get the harder it is to hang out with these Deddington party animals, and although many people doubt I can do it I actually need the break.

At the same time I thought I should try and raise some money for a charity that is close to my heart and for something that I've battled against since I was young enough to crawl.

I have never asked for a penny of charity from anyone on Facebook before, but to the best of my knowledge I've always supported my friends for good causes whenever possible, so please donate what you can ...

I owe this to every shopkeeper I pelted eggs at from my pushchair, every teacher I terrorised with my classroom anarchy, every parent who dreaded me coming round for a sleepover, as well as every umpire, linesman and anybody official who I castigated during my childhood reign of terror....Also to the Doctors and my parents whose medication and advice I ignored.

Back then we knew very little about ADHD and now I want to help the people who do understand it to look after those affected, and this will be a great help to a charity that have recently been forced  (along with 600 other companies) to move premises at short notice (six weeks) so that their offices can be turned into luxury housing.

These people have dedicated their lives to helping people like me on a voluntary basis without ever asking for anything in return.

Anyone who knows or drinks with me will know that 45 days is going to half kill me so please give generously.

Because of your overwheming generosity I have re-set my target five times and the final figure is now £3500.00 .... I would love to get as close to this as possible because this charity really needs the support.

Please - no parties for 45 days none of you, I can't bear the thought of missing out.

For everyone who sponsors me, we are having food and drinks at the Unicorn in Deddington on Friday 14th November (the day this torture ends), and I should by then be able to get drunk on a few pints and fall about legless, so even if it's just a fiver, please help me to support the victims and familes of kids with ADHD x
