We provide free school meals in India to ensure all children can go to school

Story

A team of riders from Reed Smith and Lloyds Bank consisting of Jason Marett, Ranajoy Basu and Justin Evans are taking part in a cycle race across the home counties in aid of the Akshaya Patra Foundation (TAPF).

We are aiming to raise £2,500 which would be enough to sponsor a school and provide meals to all the pupils for a whole year. It would be fantastic if you can help with our fundraising.

Akshaya Patra means inexhaustible vessel  in Hindu theology, being the vessel supposedly given to Yudhishthira by the Lord Surya holding a never-ending supply of food. TAPF was founded in June 2000 with the mission of providing school meals to children in five Government schools in Bangalore. The programme was hugely successful and a correlation was shown between the improvement of food and the education results of the children. Since 2000, TAPF have been able to expand their operations to feed over 1.3 million school children every day across India.

Thankyou for visiting our page and for supporting TAPF.
