Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Most of you will know about my MS diagnosis, this isn't how I forseen things panning out in my mid 30's...ok....ok... I am 37 now knocking on 40 but you know what I mean. I have always led a busy, active life, full of adventure and fun. I really didn't expect to ever get a diagnosis of anything gruesome. But I did......
Without the support of Tayside MS Therapy Centre, a lot of us MSers would very much be in the dark with our condition but with their support it makes managing MS and the symptoms more doable.
A lot of you will also know that every year, I complete a Mission normally to simply achieve a New Challenge but this year I want to combine this with raising money for a worthy charity.
This year I intend to Walk from Ferrol, next to the Bay of Biscay, north west Spain to Santiago. This will take 5-6 days covering 110km's.
I have completed this walk before in 2012, things were very different then, I was much fitter and healthier. So, this will be a very different challenge all together. Carrying medication, being temperature aware adapting to this and of course carrying everything that comes with MS including the emotional baggage, self doubt and that damn gremlin on the shoulder that says 'You have MS, you can't do this'. I am lucky, I can walk, therefore, I CAN!
Am I Scared? Yes! Am I Nervous? Yes! Will it be worth it? Oh yes!!
I know that money is tight for all of us right now, so, if you can find it at all possible to sponsor me in this challenge, I would be eternally grateful!
