Story
At the end of May, I'm running my first ever marathon in Liverpool. I've been totally inspired by my training, strength, and ability to eat massive quantities since I started earlier this year.
I've also been inspired to raise funds for a good cause. I've volunteered at numerous shelters for animals over the years (in addition to having my own wee rescue cat) and value the work these organisers do for the little guys who are often overlooked, abused, and forgotten in our cities.
I'm proud to run for the Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home - the oldest animal welfare organisation founded in 1883 by citizens who wanted to help strays in the city at the time. In this year alone - EDCH have provided 150k meals, rehomed 536 dogs and cats, thrown over 250 tennis balls. They provide a vital community service by trying, wherever possible, to reunite owners with their pets or re-home stray animals to new families.
Join me in supporting their good work and sponsor a mile (or 10) of my marathon.
You can also support their work through rehoming a pet (go on, get that dog you have always wanted...), boarding your pet while your away, volunteering for them, in addition to numerous other ways.
