Story
Our Mom, Joan Banks, passed away following a short illness on 26 August 2012 aged 54 years. We are receiving donations to the RCN Nurses Benevolent Fund in her memory.
Mom dedicated her life to caring for others, and so we hope this is a fitting tribute to her. She trained as a children's nurse in Birmingham, before becoming a teaching assistant at St Christopher's R.C. Primary School, Codsall. Of course, Mom also undertook the difficult task of raising the four of us!
When Mom was taken ill, the care she received from the nursing staff at the West Middlesex Hospital in London in her final days was excellent, and a great comfort to us as a family.
Dad, us girls and her grandson Connor will miss Mom enormously every day. She was a fabulous wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and auntie.
Mom's funeral is on 10th September in Bridgnorth, Shropshire. We have asked for family flowers only.
Mom really loved life and we know that she will be missed by lots of people. If you remember Mom making you smile, giving you a hug or touching your life, please make a donation in her memory to this worthy cause. Feel free to include any memories about Mom too.
Thank you
Michelle, Helen, Kate and Siobhan
