Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Dudley Zoo is home to a large collection of endangered species and is a charity close to my heart.

We completed the Onesie walk in 2015 to raise money to help the Sumatran Tiger and raised above our target figure and we are hoping to beat that again this year by helping the Snow Leopards.

My son Charlie has already "adopted" Margaash the male Snow Leopard
at Dudley Zoo and now we would like to raise money to help with DZG's latest conservation project, part of which will be to extend the Snow Leopards home to include a new viewing area and platform.

Snow Leopards face an uncertain future in the wild as they hunted for their highly prized fur, killed for their bones for use in traditional oriental medicines and squeezed out of their remote habitat by the rapid growth in human population.

£100 will buy plants and trees for enrichment, or logs for climbing and scratching.
£200 will buy heating for the snow leopard's outside den or will help towards timber and mesh to build the extension of the enclosure.
£500 will go towards purchasing viewing windows, or for rocks to create another outside den and climbing opportunities!

Please support us in sponsoring our 5km walk around Dudley Zoo's 40 acre site and help build a better life for these beautiful creatures.

DID YOU KNOW??? -

Unlike other big cats, the snow leopard cannot roar  – vocalisations include hisses, mews, growls, and wailing

They crouch to feed, a feature normally associated with small cats!!
