Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Here is a little information about Khemara and the work they do in the local community. Established in 1991, Khemara was the very first local Non-Government Organisation (NGO) in Cambodia. Since its inception, Khemara has played a significant role in working for the advancement of women and children in Cambodia by working directly with communities.
Working in a number of communities throughout Cambodia Khemara’s strength as an organisation comes from community based programs which address the needs of poor villages, especially women and children and focus on protecting and promoting basic human rights, including access to education, health services, reproductive health, protection from domestic violence and HIV/AIDs prevention.
Currently, Khemara is implementing a number of projects throughout different communities. These include projects that provide services and care to orphans and vulnerable children, non-formal education classes, reproductive health services, care and support for those living with HIV/AIDS, housing programs and programs to support entertainment workers and MSM.
All of the money raised will go directly towards one of the daycare centres which is facing closure. This is a daycare centre which I have directly worked with and I have seen the positive impact the organisation has for the children here. Families are able to drop their children off to the daycare centre where they will be safe, cared for, have access to education and healthcare.
Please donate some money however large or small to keep this fantastic little daycare centre open!
