Story
On 14 March I'm going back to Mombasa to see the children - and the cows!
We had the most incredible trip last year, so I'm really looking forward to returning to help support the charity: Education for Life.
I'm heading out on my own this time, without my npower buddy Rach or the gang from Donny Rovers, which is a little bit daunting but I know I'll be in safe hands with Glyn and Jane (founders of the charity).
Last year's overwhelming fundraising support from our friends, famillies and colleagues meant we were able to buy an African family 'Donny' the cow :-)
Owning a cow means they can sell its milk and pay for their children to go to school.
Seeing how grateful the family was for Donny, I'd love to raise some money to go towards other cows, along with school equipment (I recall the children writing with pencils only a couple of inches long and the teachers shapening them with razor blades!) and resources for the disabled children who get no support at all.
I'm also going to fill my suitcase up with as many shoes, clothes, stationery and books as possible to donate to the orphanage and the school.
It's nuts but you can't send anything out to them because anything of any value will probably be stolen on route!
ANY amount you can donate would be gratefully recieved - even if all my friends and family donate £1 each I'd hit my target :-)
I promise to share stories and photos with you when I get back so you know just how much your money has helped.
Thank you xx
