Please join us for this year's "Joe's Walk and Supper" on Sunday June 29, 2014, for a lovely stroll through the Chilterns followed by a family meal in memory of our beautiful son, Joe.
This event is being held again at St Katharine's Retreat House, Parmoor, Frieth, Bucks RG9 6NN. Meet for walk at 2.00pm. Drinks in garden (Pimms or squash) at 4.00pm. Supper served at 5.30pm. Please bring your own wine for the meal.
You don't have to have known Joe to come. Just enjoy the day with friends and family and support a great cause at the same time. Bring a group of friends or just join us for a lovely afternoon in the local countryside.
Dogs welcome on the walk but need to be tied up in garden or put in car for the meal.
I do need exact numbers who are eating (so please email me at shughes@webmd.net and let me know how many people will be staying for the supper). And please make a donation on this page.
All funds raised this year will again go to The Compassionate Friends (TCF), a wonderful organisation that supports parents who have lost a child. All bereaved parents themselves, members of TCF offer friendship, advice and hope to mothers and fathers who are facing the daunting task of trying to live on without their darling son or daughter.
They do a great job with very limited resources. I have found them a real lifeline in this incredibly difficult journey.
Joe was a fantastic boy. He was the sensible one in the Cronin household, and while he was quiet, gentle, clever and sensitive, he was also funny and loving, and a joy to be around. Our oldest son, he was adored by his mum and dad and his two younger brothers. Joe is still a massive part of our family and he is - and always will be - with us in everything we do.
