Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 30th November I finished walking the whole coast of Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) to raise money for and awareness of Parkinson's Disease (PD)
You can follow the whole trip on facebook.com/john.rayment.16 where I have posted about 60 photographs each day, along with a blog.
My walk started on 1st August 2012 at the Tilbury Ferry on the river Thames, crossing to Gravesend in Kent and heading clockwise through Dover, the South West Coast Path, Wales Coast Path, Lake District, bonnie Scotland and back down the east coast of England to Tilbury in time for tea - on 30th November 2013.
As stated above, the main aim of the walk was to raise funds for PD, particularly the Parkinson's Improvement Programme. PIP concentrates on the role of nutrition in the treatment of Parkinson’s as well as other chronic neurological conditions. The Programme uses anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant compounds together with the nutrients required for brain health and repair. More information is available at www.brainhelp.info
My work colleague Richard Hayward and family decided to use my walk for donations in memory of Richard's father and mother, Dr and Mrs Hayward.
My target is ambitious but with your help I can make it: to raise ‘a penny a pace’, £20 would sponsor 2,000 steps or 1 mile, while my actual 10.6 million paces equates to £106,000. Including gift aid, I have raised about £13,000 so far, which is fantastic and I am extremely grateful to everyone who has donated Or is about to!!
Thanks again for your support!
