"Each year we award grants to specially selected projects up and down the country, which provide vital support for youngsters and their
families living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity. These grants may fund activities such as workshops for teenagers with cancer, rehabilitation for children with brain tumours or support for young carers. But we don’t stop there. Whilst delivering life-changing work in their communities, these projects are often small, operating on a shoestring, or tackling an issue that’s not well understood. They find it hard to get heard, so, as the official charity of 8 of the biggest radio stations in the UK, reaching an audience of 24 million people, we give them a voice and help raise awareness via our radio stations and websites. By making more people aware of the brilliant work they do, we hope this will lead to a brighter future for each of the causes. We don’t just give a hand out, we aim to give a hand up as well."
