Story

I first started volunteering for the Chat Moss Project in July of last year and I was quickly taken with the work that we are doing to help sustain and support this specific type of habitat, namely lowland raised bog.

I've long known about the mosslands and even visited them beforehand, but I wasn't sure what they really represented until I got 'stuck in' - literally!

The mosses form part of the gateway to Cheshire, so fittingly I have decided to walk that entire gateway - from Manchester to Liverpool - in July 2016 to raise money for the project.

I aim to connect with nature along the way, and revisit a route I've actually cycled.
