This year a significant event took place in our family - my brave sister Niamh had a kidney transplant and that kidney was donated by my amazing brother Micheal. Thankfully the operations were a huge success and they made a full recovery. Aswell as the amazing work the doctors and nurses did while they were in hospital Niamh's husband Dave was able to avail of the Renal Support Centre which is a free accommodation on site available to family members. This service is largely run on charitable donations from the Irish Kidney Association and without it Dave would not have been within walking distance of his wife while in hospital. Running a marathon is something I have wanted to do for a long time and it provides me with the opportunity to raise money for this worthwhile and fantastic association. Please donate what you can,
