Story

In May 2015 I noticed a lump in my left clavicle, I went to visit the doctor and they sent for further tests at my chosen hospital which was Southport NHS Trust.
I was put on “watch and wait” with 6 weekly check-ups until Feb 2016 when my condition became worse. I was advised by my consultant to commence 6 treatments of chemotherapy which was administered at the Medical Day Unit at Southport Hospital. As you can imagine I was devastated but I knew it would come one day. I started my chemotherapy in March 2016 I’m now on my fifth treatment, I’ve managed to get through my treatment with the help of my fantastic family and friends. It’s been very hard at times with emotions, fatigue and other side effects. I attend the MDU every 3 weeks for my chemotherapy and every member of staff are so nice, caring and dedicated to each and every patient.
