Story
As many of you know I'm quite attached to my hair, it changes colour and style often and has done for all my days so this is a big thing for me to do! I hope you will all support me and not take the p*** too much when I'm bald.
The reasons for having my hair removed are very close to my heart, animal welfare and care. Even though I'm supporting my local branch of the RSPCA, all hair that is removed is being collected and donated for the production of Wigs for children suffering with cancer.
I have spent many years, fundraising and fostering animals etc. Due to my demanding job working in the Paramedic Emergency Service, I unfortunately don't have the time or flexibility to help as much as I can or would like to.
The Manchester & Salford Branch of the RSPCA is a separate charity from the national RSPCA and has been running since 1963. They are dedicated to improving the lives of animals in the local area but being financially independent means they are entirely reliant upon local support to help fund their work. In 2015 it cost £116,000 to care for 419 rescued animals, that's an average of £277 per animal!
These are animals that are lucky, the ones that can be helped. There are many many more that don't get the help they need to survive. The more people that sponsor me, the more we raise, the more we can help the furries that need us.
