I ran 230km from the Andes mountain down the the Amazon basin for a project in Serenje. Through all my ups and downs I'm glad to say that I survived and That it was a wonderful experience. SERENJE

In 2008, we began a five year project in partnership with Tearfund and the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia aimed at tackling the impact of HIV and AIDS in Serenje, a rural district of Zambia.

PROJECT AIMS

The project had four main aims:

- HIV prevention

- Improved food security

- Increased access to education for orphans and vulnerable children

- Leadership capacity development

The project has developed significantly. It now includes the building of a dormitory for girls to enable them to complete their education (Project 125), partners schools from Bracknell Forest with schools in Serenje, and, through members of our community, Howard and Elizabeth Reece-Smith, has provided an operating theatre for the local hospital.
