The Situation in Burundi More than 200,000 refugees have fled Burundi in fear for their lives.The economy has shrunk and Burundi now has the lowest GDP of any nation. Many are struggling to survive and feed their children.
What GLO is doing about it GLO works with outstanding local leaders to bring lasting change. Many organisations have fled the country but the GLO teams are standing firm:
Providing life-saving crisis support, jobs and social enterprises to rebuild the economy and society.
Running great orphanages and schools
Eradicating malnutrition – delivering dairy products to slum communities and cows to families, so that they can feed their children and earn a living
Reaching pygmies - the 1% poorest of the poor, providing housing, sanitation, jobs, education and health care, where there was none.
