Story
Last year Justin was asked by The Barts Cancer Institute, part of Queen
Mary University of London to ride the Prudential Ride London 100 to help them raise funds for their cancer research activities. Justin said that it was one of the best cycling experiences he had taken part in and the fact that he was raising money for this relatively small charity made the occasion even more special. This year he has been asked again so has teamed up with good friend and neighbour Neil to help continue to raise funds for the Queen Mary University of London Foundation and put some meaning to all the time that they spend on our bikes.
Although Justin’s family have been lucky to so far avoid cancer, Neil’s
has had first-hand experience of how research is important in understanding the disease and developing pioneering treatments. Neil’s Grandfather was diagnosed with cancer in his 80’s for which normal treatments would have been unsuitable, however a newly developed less invasive microwave based treatment means that is now 93 and going strong.
The Queen Mary University of London Foundation is a relatively small
charity so is dependent on donations to continue with their vital research, therefore we would like to ask you to do the easy bit and donate to this worthy cause, while we do the hard bit of riding 100 miles around London.
Many thanks
Justin and Neil
