Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in loving memory of our dear mum, wife, sister, grandmother, auntie and friend - Jyotsna Shah.

Thank you all for the donations so far!!!! We are SO thankful to those of you who supported this wonderful cause in memory of mum.

The next challenge:

Reena - mums oldest daughter will be undertaking the Midnight Walk on Friday 17 June to walk 9 miles through the night in pink to raise money for this incredible hospice who looked after our wonderful mum in her final days. We have added a target or £1,000 so please dig deep to support us to help fund the truly bespoke care this hospice provides.

Mum's story:

Taken from us too soon after her battle against cancer - our amazing mum showed unbelievable strength of character and bravery and accepted her demise with true dignity. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian cancer in May 2015 and had surgery in June to remove the tumours - with the hope to have a few sessions of chemotherapy to hopefully continue with life. She then suffered many post surgery obstacles which in turn - kept her in hospital for 8-months before it was too late to treat the underlying problem of cancer. She then was brought to St Luke's Hospice in Kingsbury where she was looked after, treated with dignity and respect, did not suffer any pain and left us with her family by her side.  She was and always will be, our biggest inspiration. Gone but never forgotten our beautiful mum.

We originally set this page up for any donations to St Luke's Hospice instead of flowers or misc donations at the funeral or prathna. Nurses at St. Luke's Hospice cared for our dearest mum during her last few days with us. They were all absolutely amazing to our mum and the family.

Please give whatever you can in memory of our mum and to help other families who may need St Lukes in their time of need.

Love,
Amar, Priya and Reena xxx
