Story
At 22, I was busy making plans: graduating, starting a career, spending time with friends, considering travelling with the hope of one day settling down and starting a family of my own. All dates that are circled in a diary of any ambitious young girl!.. Unfortunately life had a different plan for me, it circled a few dates I still struggle to believe were for me. Those dates will forever, lay heavy on my heart, as they do for so many.. The day I found that Cancer had pitched up home in my breast.. the day it wanted to rest on my spine and a few months later, the day it decided it wanted to stay in my brain. From these dates I knew that my ambitious dreams had to be tweaked and a new life, for however long that will be, had to begin.. and carry on!
I try and live by my own motto now;
'Cancer may have chosen me, but I choose not to be defined by it and choose to go through this journey making it worth something!!'
The journey I've been on, compares well with a rollercoaster. It has shown, taught and delivered me experiences I still question. However, I try to live with Cancer in a dignified manner and try to make a difference in as many ways as possible. The Marina Dalglish is a fantastic facility and charity which supports many patients in different ways. Please help me to make a difference by helping such a beautiful charity that means the world to me!
I've listed 31 things that have and do motivate and inspired me which I appreciate and love. I've been counting my blessings to remind myself that although times are testing.. Each day is a blessing and I appreciate each one.
Thank you xXx
