We are holding a fundraising day on 11th June 2016 to raise funds for Ward Ground C Oncology in Raigmore Hospital. Fund no RAIMDD12. 

As you all know at the end of October 2015 James was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer called Pericardal Mesothelioma. In November James became very ill and spent 2 weeks in the GC ward. The staff in the ward were fantastic, so caring and kind and recognised how important it was for me to stay with James whilst he was in hospital, and I had a reclining chair in his room which I slept on. After discussions with Rhoda Paterson - Nurse in Charge we have decided that it would be great to raise money to buy sleeper beds - which are chairs that go flat into a bed. This would enable others who want to stay on the ward with their loved ones to do so and give them a bit of comfort. One chair costs £1600 so I'm hoping we can raise enough to buy two.

I will never forget the amazing care James received on the GC Ward and also the kindness of the staff towards myself and our family at such an awful time. It will be nice to be able to give something back and help others who are in the same position.
