We help people who are homeless in Woking to find appropriate housing

Story

For just over a year, KFC have been working with York Road Project to offer employability and confidence building workshops to their clients.

They provide the clients at the shelter with the skills to go back out into the world and hopefully find themselves employment, on a more long term basis. In the short term it offers the client’s 2 hours relief from what's happening in their lives to engage with people who talk to them as equals, without judgement which really helps to raise their self-confidence and self-worth which ultimately makes their chances of finding employment so much better.

As a team, we've met some incredible people with amazing stories and it has helped us to be more open minded, now when we pass a homeless person on the street we remind ourselves that they will have a story and that they are probably not there out of choice and that sometimes circumstances conspire against us and that it could be any of us in that position and so we give them a smile and perhaps get them a sandwich or a coffee to show them that someone really does care.

Please help us support this amazing charity!
