Story
Chronic pain leaves people with a lifetime of agony. More often than not, doctors find diagnosing such conditions hard to pinpoint and directly treat. It affects one in seven of the population, and is more common than you might have expected.
Both mine and Gareth's parents have been diagnosed with varying forms of intense chronic pain and in 2014, I was diagnosed with chronic back pain.
Through research, Pain Relief Foundation seeks to find new methods of treating patients with chronic pain and end their suffering. The charity trains doctors so they have the latest treatments available.
The Coast to Coast has been a challenge we've both wanted to do for years.
So, on Saturday 25th June at 8:00am, (whilst many of you might be having a lie-in, planning a bbq in the garden or making egg & soldiers) we will be boarding a train to St Bees in Cumbria, the starting point of Wainwrights' famous, unofficial Coast to Coast hike. From that day on we will embark on 13 days and 190 miles of walking. Never less than 11 miles a day and clocking 23 miles on two of the days.
If you know us well, you'll know we're pretty excited to do this, and we figured if we can raise money for a charity that has affected us and our families quite heavily in recent years, then why not try.
That's our story!
