Story
Help us send young people on a life changing trip away this summer!
We are raising money so that a group of young people can go on a trip to Cornwall this summer. The money you donate will enable the young people to take part in activities including surfing, fishing and coasteering for the first time.
Trips like these give young people new skills, filling them with confidence and providing a new perspective on life.
Knights Youth Centre has been supporting young people in the Clapham Park area of South London since 1936 which makes 2016 their 80th Anniversery!
In addition to the work done week in, week out to support young people in the local area, KYC frequently takes young people away on residential trips to expand their horizons and give them the opportunity to try out new experiences. These trips have included climbing, bouldering and caving in the Peak District, social action projects in the Dominican Republic, Romania and this summer heading to Sri Lanka, camping trips to Cornwall, surfing off the coast of Wales, activity holidays to Ireland and many others.
These trips are only able to take place with external sources of finance. The young people and families that KYC work with are not in the financial position to be able to pay to go away on trips like this out of their own pockets. Lambeth is one of the worst areas in the country for child poverty and Clapham Park is particularly deprived.
This is why we have decided to take part in Tough Mudder, a 12 mile obstacle race where you subject yourself to trials such as ice swimming and electroshock dash's.
Knights can't run these trips without people like you!
