Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be walking 50km from Eastbourne to Brighton and this will be the toughest challenge I've done but here is why:
My friends little boy Dexter has recently been diagnosed with severe Cerebral Palsy and the Peterson's fund for Children are giving them a huge amount of support so it seemed a perfect charity to raise some money for.
Dexter is just 6 months old and his mum, Gemma, tells his story...
for and put on a cooling mat for 72hours to prevent any further damage or bleed to his brain. Amazingly, he survived and two weeks later was able to go home, feeding from a bottle. Dexter suffered grade 2/3 hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy which resulted in him having moderately severe brain damage to two areas of his brain.
Six months on we are enjoying every moment with him at our home in Woking, Surrey. However, it has recently been confirmed that he has Cerebral Palsy affecting the whole of his body. Dexter is such a sweet little boy and we have so much love to give him, but we realise we will be facing some difficult times ahead but hope with the support of Peterson's Fund for Children he can reach his potential and thrive."
